A rise in demand for nose reshaping and eye bag surgery

The recession is threatening to tighten, not loosen, its grip on economies across the world and as it does increasing numbers of people are finding themselves in the unfortunate and often incredibly demoralising situation of being made redundant. While for some this is a much needed motivation to move on to pastures new anyway, or to try their hand at living the dream, but for others, particularly those in the final third of their career years, it can be something that threatens to completely destroy the quality of life they have become accustomed to.

For these people, competing against younger jobseekers who employers assume will be, if not more experienced or better at the job, then simply more energetic or enthusiastic, can prove too much to handle, and they therefore feel the need to even the odds by looking physically younger. Hair, makeup and clothes can only achieve so much here, and as more and more people realise this, the greater the demand for surgical procedures such as face lifts, nose reshaping and eye bag removal.

Face lift surgery can be performed to lift and tighten the skin of the entire face, or keyhole surgery or MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) can be used to perform a brow lift or partial face lift, for instance on the forehead or the lower face to remove the sagging skin that can form jowls. Nose reshaping surgery, as well as being used to correct breathing issues, can also be performed to leave you with a straighter, smaller or shapelier nose, or to reduce or increase the size of the nostrils. And because the nose is central to you face, changes to it can be very dramatic.

Eye bag removal surgery is becoming popular because it is a simple and relatively quick procedure that can takes years off the face. This type of surgery not only removes excess fatty tissue from the under eye area (those bags that can make you look constantly worn out) but it can also be used to remove the excess, sagging skin that often starts to appear on the lid and around the corners of the eyes as you get older.

As well as surgical procedures to reverse the effects of ageing, there has also been an increase in those people following regular programmes of non-surgical solutions such as Botox, and other types of dermal fillers, as well as laser hair removal, skin peels and laser skin treatments in a bid to look younger.
